Undergraduate Mechanical Engineering Intern

A mechanical engineer at a digital signage company will not only help to design the sign module, but also the
manufacturing automation technologies that will build it.


If you want to help design the future of outdoor digital signage in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment,
we want you to join our team as an Undergraduate Mechanical Engineering Intern.


The Job:

  • Push the capabilities of reflective digital displays

  • Engineer the most vivid and reliable outdoor display on the market

  • Prototype new display structures, components and mechanisms, test systems, manufacturing automation and processes

  • Build custom tools for rapid iterations of production and efficient assembly processes

  • Create detailed designs in CAD and well-specified, accurate drawings



  • An undergraduate mechanical engineering student willing to work part-time

  • Can share a portfolio of previous work

  • Enjoys the gritty details of part design, material selection and prototyping functional mechanical parts

  • Hands on with rapid prototyping tools including CNC, 3D printer, and standard machine shop tools

  • Craft elegant designs that function with efficiency and simplicity

  • Experienced with CAD/CAM to design components, produce technical drawings, and build assemblies

  • Are familiar with a variety of manufacturing techniques including injection molding, lamination, and sheet metal fabrication

  • Experienced with data collection, analysis, and presentation

  • Can communicate seamlessly with vendors and suppliers

  • Are comfortable actively participating in problem solving and enjoy working with a team to solve problems

  • Quick to adapt and willing to learn new techniques, possibly outside your disciplinary boundary

Bonus Points:

  • Machining experience

  • Experience working with a contract manufacturer

  • Electronics and circuit design

  • PLM/document control systems

  • Programming skills

  • Industrial design
